This policy explains how Darwin Business Solutions ("Darwin", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information when you visit our T5018 Done Right pages, buy the T5018 Done Right course or its add-ons, or receive our emails. It is written to meet British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) where it applies, and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
T5018 Done Right, including the free Starter and the paid kit, is offered only to customers in Canada outside Quebec. We do not sell to customers in Quebec, and the free Starter is not offered there. If you're in Quebec, please don't sign up or buy. If we learn we've collected a Quebec resident's information, we'll refund any purchase and delete it.
Darwin Business Solutions is a sole proprietorship owned by John Visser.

Privacy contact: John Visser, Owner and Privacy Officer, at the email, phone and address above. He is responsible for how we handle personal information and can answer any question about this policy.
We collect only what we need to sell and deliver the course and email you.
The worksheets and forms in the course (for example, the Subcontractor Information Form) are for you to use in your own business. We do not receive what you or your subcontractors fill in unless you choose to send it to us. Please don't email us anyone's Social Insurance Number.
We use your personal information to:
We don't sell or rent your personal information. We won't use it for any other purpose without telling you and, where the law requires, asking for your consent.
Transactional emails. We send emails you need about your purchase, such as your receipt, your course login and access details, and important updates about the product you bought. You get these whether or not you get our marketing emails.
Signing up for the free Starter. Our sign-up form asks for your first name and email address. Next to the form it says:
"By entering your email, you agree that Darwin Business Solutions (John Visser, 244 4th Ave West, Prince Rupert BC V8J 1P3, bookkeeper@darwinbusinesssolutions.com) may email you T5018 tips and offers. Unsubscribe anytime."
There is no checkbox. When you type in your email address and click "Send me the free Starter + T5018 tips", you agree to get T5018 tips and offers from us by email. We keep a record of when you signed up and the wording shown to you.
Buying the course. Our order form has one required checkbox, "I agree to the Terms of Sale." It is not a consent to marketing emails. Under the form it says:
"We'll email your order and kit. As a customer, you may also get related tips and offers from Darwin Business Solutions for up to 2 years. Unsubscribe anytime."
If you buy from us, Canadian law treats you as having an existing business relationship with us for two years from the date of your purchase. During those two years we may send you related tips and offers. After two years, we send you marketing emails only if you have given us your express consent, for example by signing up for the free Starter.
Every marketing email names Darwin Business Solutions, gives our mailing address and a way to contact us, and includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing is free and takes one click. We act on your request within 10 business days, usually sooner. You can also unsubscribe by emailing bookkeeper@darwinbusinesssolutions.com. Unsubscribing from marketing emails doesn't affect your course access or the transactional emails about your purchase.
We share personal information only with the service providers who help us run the funnel, and only so they can do that work for us:
We may also disclose personal information when the law requires or allows it, for example to the Canada Revenue Agency, or in response to a court order.
Our service providers store and process information outside Canada:
While your information is in another country, it is subject to that country's laws and may be accessed by its courts, law enforcement and national security authorities.
